My Greatest experience with God- Experiencing God's love and Grace each and every day

My Story

I was born and raised in Hamilton, New Jersey. In a wonderful and loving home. I have 2 amazing parents and 2 awesome older brothers. I grew up playing all sports and became really good at football and swimming. I was a nationally ranked swimmer and went on to play quarterback in college. I was raised catholic, made my confirmation at 12 years old and went to church once a year on Easter Sunday. That’s about it...I heard of God but didn’t know God. At the age of 11, tragedy struck, my best friend was killed riding his bicycle. Experiencing such a loss at such a young age was incredibly difficult. At that time i didn’t know how to deal with my emotions and became very rebellious. This way of living, eventually led to the darkest years of my life. For many years I struggled with addiction, was in and out of jail and ruined relationships with my family. I hated who I had become and was completely broken. I needed saving but could not save myself. That was the moment I dropped to my knees and asked God to save me! A few days later, I was on a flight to Delray Beach, and checked into a 30 day inpatient treatment center. My first day there, I was asked, besides staying sober, what is the one thing you want most out of this? My answer was: I want a relationship with God. Within weeks a friend brought me to The Avenue Church, where I was introduced to the Gospel, got saved and got baptized. I immediately surrendered my life to Christ, his will and plan for me. Through Christ, I have been transformed and my heart has been renewed. Since then, God has been using amazing opportunities for me to grow as a Christian and also in my relationship with Him. Today, by the grace of God, I am no longer a slave to drugs and alcohol. I now have an amazing relationship with my family. I’m a member of The Avenue Church, and experience great joy in serving our children's ministry. Most importantly, I am a grateful believer in Jesus Christ.
