Your Story - Discovering Your Purpose. (CLASS IS FULL)

Every experience, relationship, success, disappointment, and turning point in life has shaped who you are today. But what if those moments weren't random and God has been intentionally preparing you for a unique purpose?
In this class you'll explore Scripture alongside the research of Dr. Robert Clinton, who devoted his life to understanding how God develops His people for His purposes. By examining Biblical principles and the timeline of your life, you will begin to recognize God's hand in your past, gain clarity about your present, and discover how He may be leading you into the future.
Whether you're seeking direction, wrestling with questions about your calling, or simply wanting to know God more deeply, this class will give you practical tools to begin answering these questions.

Emotionally Healthy Discipleship Study.
When: Sundays, 4:00-6:00 PM, starts Oct 4-Nov 22, 8 wks.
Where: Lakeview BC, Rainbow Room.
Join us for an 8-week journey designed to help you slow down, deepen your relationship with Jesus, and experience transformation beneath the surface. Rooted in more than thirty years of ministry from Pete and Geri Scazzero, this course explores the truth that loving God and loving others are inseparable.
Together, we'll practice stillness, silence, and Scripture as daily rhythms, and unpack core biblical principles that lead to emotional and spiritual health in every relationship.
This fall session covers Part 1 of the 16-week discipleship course.
Part 2 - Emotionally Healthy Relationships - will be offered in Winter 2027.

This semester we will be using John Stott's study guide on the books of 1, 2 & 3 John and discussing these letters as a group. We share a meal or dessert, discuss the reading, and pray for one another.

WEDNESDAY GROUP
Women's Dance Fitness Group.
When: Wednesdays, 5:30-6:45 PM.
Where: Lakeview BC, Avenue Church Office.
Led by Martha-Paula McAliley, this fun dance group includes 5-minutes of pre-fellowship, 60-minutes of dance fitness (warm up and cool down included), and 10-minutes of post-fellowship, 75-minutes total. For teens to golden girls, low to medium intensity. Varied Christian music: from County to Rap, Rock & Merengue. There is a song for you! Bring water, a sweat rag and wear workout attire.

Men’s Running Group: Keep Going!
When: Fridays, 6:00-7:30 AM, ongoing always.
Where: Across from downtown Starbucks (205 E. Atlantic, Delray Beach).
Led by Casey Cleveland, Kyle Mains, and Charlie Lalane, this group helps guys live with great endurance! We meet across from Starbucks on Fridays at 6 am and go for a 30-minute run followed by coffee, fellowship, and encouraging discussion. All levels of runners welcome!

Watch and Discuss: The Chosen Season 5.
When: Fridays, 7:00-8:45 PM, starts Aug 28.
Where: Lakeview BC, Avenue Church Office.
Led by Wade and Martha-Paula McAliley. This group will watch and discuss Season 5 of the groundbreaking television series, The Chosen. This historical and dramatic portrayal of the life of Jesus has impacted millions and encouraged them greatly in their faith. Group time will consist of watching and discussing an episode each week, along with fellowship and prayer.

Friday Night Bereans (Acts 17:11).
When: 2nd and 4th Fridays, 7:00-8:00 PM.

Each session a different person will be assigned to choose the book (or chapters from longer books) of the Bible that we will be reading. We read as a group, one at a time out loud, stopping at the end of each chapter, and then discuss the things that stood out and what the Lord might be ministering to us through these portions of His Word. We begin and end in prayer.

Off the Grid events provide opportunities to enjoy God's creation together. Join us for outdoor events like kayaking, snorkeling our reefs, and exploring the Everglades.

WHY SMALL
GROUPS EXIST
Small Groups have one, simple purpose—to bring people together.
We believe God created us to live in community with others and only then can we experience the full life He intends for us. We believe life change happens in the context of Relationships.
Meaningful relationships can be hard to find, and Small Groups exist to make life-changing
relationships relevant and accessible to you.
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

We believe our church must grow larger and smaller at the same time.
We grow larger to reach as many people as possible with the life-giving message of Jesus.
We gather in Small Groups to build community and care for people.
"Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching
and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah."

Small Groups offer people:
1. A Place to connect
"Yes, whatever a person is like, I try to find common ground with him so
that he will let me tell him about Christ and let Christ save him."

We were not made to do life alone. God created us for community, and Small Groups
provide a place to connect with others, share life, and grow in faith together.
2. A Place to protect
"We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So
we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters."
1 JOHN 3:16 NLT
It is through life together that our problems become smaller, and God uses others to bring support and encouragement to our lives. Small Groups become a place where others don’t just know your name, but care about what is happening in your life and want to support you in your spiritual journey.

We believe every person is created with God-given potential to make a difference in the world. Small Groups are a place you can grow with others to become more like Jesus and reach the potential God has put inside you.
